Once again, the UK rally season was launched with the Cobham Bus Museum Spring Gathering last Sunday. Unlike the last few (or many) years though, this year's rally was hosted right at a snow fall - in fact one of the heaviest snowfall of the whole winter (oh yes, I know we are in spring, but there you go).
Despite the heavy snow, and the threat of cancellation, dozens of vehicles still managed to turn up for the event:
Some vehicles make the venue in decent state:
...whilst other in a weathered state:
Apart from the weather, the event was very much routine, with shuttle services between Wisley Airfield and the Cobham Bus Museum, using various buses. Of course, the services featured some old London buses:
and some brand new vehicles as well:
Same story for the static display, and one of the exhibit is this ex-London Transport Fleetline:
and this much forgotten Enviro 200 prototype:
Although the vehicle turnout was reduced as a result of the snow, this year's rally still feature some surprises, including this former Cardiff Bus Ailsa:
and Ensignbus brought along this very rare Metroliner 400GT, formerly owned by Yorkshire Traction/Stagecoach Yorkshire.
The star of the show though, is East London's Routemaster RM1933, which unveiled a special livery to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Bow garage.
Finally, a rally collection will not be completed without a bunch of Routemasters:
the long waited pics arrived, at last! We were quite shocked when we had the phone call. Well, guess this is a proper "Snowbus" rally then. Probably one of the most unforgettable rally you would ever been to. I guess the weather turns out fine as I can see some shadows in the afternoon pictures.
Would like to see more pics of RM1933 and love to see two Volvo Alisas parked up together. Nice one mate!

Since you asked for it, I'll do you a special offer:
As for RM1933, it's actually out in service on Monday. I'll post a picture of it a little later, don't you worry.
As for the rally, yes it's back to Wisley this year (thankfully). I will certainly, if anything, remember how cold it was! I think I suffered hypothermia at one point and lost the use of my fingers! It brightens up in the afternoon and in fact much of the snow has melted by 2pm anyway. Still, the morning snow provide lost of nice pictures, although at one point, it snowed so badly and went so cold that I abandoned taking pictures at all.
