Err...not really can't buy new planes, just planes with US made equipments
But that nearly equals to nothing to buy also (can you find a plane that has no US-made equipments?)
However, selling of spares for the planes bought before 1979 was still allowed
That's why you can see their old 707, 727, 747-100/200 and A300 flying everywhere
In the early 90's, Iran did purchase dozens of brand new Tu-154M from Russia
And recently, Iran signed an LOI for 50 brand new Fokker 70, on the basis of if Rekkof was able to re-launch it
Iran also got the production license for An-140, re-named as the IRAN-140 |

Iran can only buy planes which have under a certain precentage of US made equipment... That doesnt means that they cannot buy any jets...
I think they can still buy A340 with RR engine since Airbus have been in discussion with them but due to high price... No deal at the end... |

飛歐洲/ 亞洲用機較為有彈性, 唔定用747, A300, A310, 有部份航線用混合機種.
所以以下所說未必準確及齊全, 其實還有很多目的地, 請到 www.iranair.com 瀏覽:
不過部份國際線每周班次很少, 只有來回各一班
Boeing 747飛 東京, 北京, 首爾, 倫敦希斯路, 吉隆波,
達卡, 孟買, 而飛加拿大蒙特利爾 (直航只限去程, 回程要轉機)
A300 飛 黎巴嫩, 瑞典歌德堡, 阿姆斯特丹, 法蘭克福, 日內瓦, 斯德哥爾摩
A310 飛 杜拜, 巴黎, 羅馬, 科隆, 漢堡, 柏林, 維也納, 伊斯坦堡, 哥本哈根, 馬德里, 莫斯科, 卡拉奇
Iran Air 飛機數目 (未必update):
A300 - 8
A310- 8
Boeing 737- (4 stored)
Boeing 747- 5 + (2 stored)
Fokker 100- 11

I dont think IranAir fly to JFK anymore...
Currently IR have a fleet of:
8 A300
8 A310
4 B727
5 B747
11 F-100
They have also got 1 A321 on lease... |
