[台灣] 高雄捷運 Kaohsiung MRT Update

It seems the Kaohsiung MRT may begin trial passenger runs in November!  However, it is only a small section.  According to friends in other forums the construction in some areas is still not near completion.

我只知道每個火車 EMU 只有三卡﹐車站月台設有玻璃閉門。

高雄捷運的試營運模式，類似深圳地鐵一號線；
不同的是，高雄捷運列車採第三軌取電，深圳地鐵列車採架空取電。

至於售票、閘機等方式，兩者大同小異。

本人認為這是為了12月高雄市市長選舉﹐由泛綠陣營搞出來的東西﹐
鐵路通電後立即安排免費試乘﹐目的就是在增加 陳菊的支持度。

高雄捷運的入閘機看起來更像西鐵拍八仔用的閘機。

其實我唔明佢點解唔用返磁帶車飛,
而要用呢類輕觸式車飛,
有乜好處呢?

Perhaps it saves money on the ticket gate.  It will not need both an RFID card reader and a magnetic stripe card reader.

由於磁帶機的read write head會隨使用時間、上磁失效及與車票的摩擦而有損耗，使用壽命亦最多只有10年。
而現時RFID的壽命最少都講緊十幾年，係long term operating cost黎講，唔用RFID就笨。

Very good point, RFID involves no contact and no wear on the ticket or the machine.

RFID chips are very cheap now too.
