Scrapping a warship is much more expensive than it looks - the US Navy found that
when the carrier USS Coral Sea (CV-43) was scrapped. So they are much prefer to
expend old warships by sinking them now. In fact, this year they have sank two carriers,
the USS Oriskany (CV-34) and USS America (CV-66).
