Do not just ask here because not everyone understands the topic very well. Even though I am not in Hong Kong right now, I beleive that the West Rail is good for transportation because it can provide the faster alternative service between West New Territorries and urban district.
Some bus services expecially express bus service should be cancelled because of the faster rail service. For example, the light rail, such as Metro Orang Line in Los Angeles, the US, opens, the Express buses services like Route Metro Routes 418 and 426 should be cancelled. However, this fails because of the objection of residents.
Therefore, some buses service should be cancelled, but it may not succeed because of the objective voice. In fact, after rail has been open, many people use rail instead. However, this situation may not be good in Hong Kong, why? Could someone explain more? Thanks.
