After the severe weather conditions, the Citybus Operations and Engineering Teams have been comprehensively accessing the road conditions in preparation of our service resumption. Following the government's decision to lift the "extreme conditions" and reopen certain road sections, Citybus announced the resumption of overnight bus routes, with a limited level of service, whilst most of our daytime bus services will be resuming from the first departure on Saturday. In Shau Kei Wan Yiu Tung Estate, which suffered from a large scale landside blocking one of the key roads, cleanup work is expected to take weeks. Citybus will increase frequency for Route 2A subject to customer demand, and all seven Citybus routes passing through Yiu Hing Road will be diverted.
The severe weather has caused significant challenges in various districts of Hong Kong, particularly affecting road conditions in Hong Kong Island. Road accesses to Yiu Tung, Chai Wan Wan Tsui Road, Shek O, Stanley, Tai Tam, The Peak, Tai Hang Road, Mount Davis and Sai Kung are limited. We expect it will take a longer time to restore bus services in these areas due to the need for debris clearance and road maintenance. Bus routes passing through these areas on Saturday may need to be diverted, truncated, or temporarily suspended. Customers seeking information regarding individual route service arrangements are advised to utilize the Citybus App and website for their bus route inquiries.
