The i-bus PA system is still being installed across London, so it depends on which garage the bus is allocated to actually, as some of the garages have already been fully sorted (and some aren't).
You don't have to rely on the PA anyway, the stop names are well marked at each bus stops, and the maps (esp. the spider map) is rather comprehensive as well. If anything, London has one of the best transport information anywhere in the world. As long as you take time to read, you wil be fine (just as everybody else).

If you are nervous, just go to one of the tube station and get aCentral London Bus Map, which is more than adaquate anyway. If youcannot get your head around the buses, use the tube then.
