The Wright Intergal Hybrid bus:First in London bought 5 - for route 328Arriva bought 5- for route 141now the Go Ahead bus entered service on route 24. It made a brief appearance in early May, but was sent within days to Wright for modification.each of the three batches mentioned above is different:The buses for First and Arriva have ventilation system installed upstairs, so you can see the 2-3 window bay, and the rear of the bus has been redesigned. The First buses were fitted with the all bonded windows [cheaper] while the Arriva buses were fitted with individual windows. The Go Ahead bus was not fitted with upper ventilation system, so it looks like a normal Wright bodied bus in London!here is a photo of WDH1 on route 24HW3 on route 141Wnh39002 on the 328to illustrate the differencesregardsYoram

I meant to say that the third Wright Hybrid integral bus entered service on route 24- and to show the difference between the three different batches of this batch - for the 3 operators: Go Ahead Arriva and First...

I'm sure you mean otherwise - bonded window, if anything, is actually more expensive than gasket glazing. That's why Stagecoach and First ditched them many year ago - because replacing the etched glazing on bonded windows are more expensive and difficult!
anyway, here is another comaprison: HEV1- the first hybrid bus made by Wright which was used by Arriva till May. The bus has been returned to Wrights...

I always mix the terms....
You certainly are old chap!!! ;)
Anyway, I'm surprised by this WHD1 - at first glance I thought it was HEV1 itself. I was expecting they are getting the Gemini 2 HEVs like the WNH/HWs, but this one, if anything, is just another HEV1!
It is an interesting question!
HEV1 was a "prototype", and the HW/WNHs were meant to be the 'production' ones.
The '24 bus' differs from HEV1- for instance look at the fuel intake area, and also the rear of the bus.
in addition, inside the bus, the lower deck floor -at the back- is higher than on HEV1, so, clearly, Wright altered the chassis/engine/batteries.

No matter how I look it's still look exactly the same as HEV1 - Actually I have checked from a source of mine which confirm it was the case, this is the same as prototype HEV1, instead of the Gemini 2 HEVs that Arriva and First have.
