Solos are not too bad - it only affects the Mercedes-engined ones. Those with MAN or Cummins engines are actually not bad at all. You have never been on an Excel have you? That thing's rattles are beyond any imagination.
Anyway, rattles on B7TL is common on certain builds from my observation. Early version with ZF-gearbox tends to have less rattle, and the late built ones tends to be worse. The worst of the lot are those Voith ones with President bodywork - specifically the W/X-reg ones with London General. They are absolutely woeful. Thankful the problem went away with the B9TL...
