This Saturday will see the first mainstream bendibus service to be converted back to double deckers. Unlike the relatively controversial conversion of the two Red Arrow routes 507 and 521, the logic of getting the bendibuses out of the 38 is no-brainer really. In order to maintain the capacity, these 48 bendibuses will be replaced by 72(!) double deckers, without counting spare vehicles.
Going, and (but for a very minorities) probably not going to be missed really.

Hi NV58,
Tks for your information, it is sad to see the bendis are leaving 38 tomorrow. Replacing 48 bendis by 72 DD certainly not a clever thing to do in terms of operation and creating more traffics on roads. (well on the other hand it is good for bus manufactuers and job oppurtunities)
But my question is, as raised sometimes ago, where would these bendis go after cascaded from 38?
Just discovered I have only taken around 20 photos of Citaro during my London trip...seems too few...
btw..How come the rt. 38 need 72 dd bus?! How long does each single journey take?
Its frequency seems less than 5 mins, right?

People in TfL count the capacity of a bendi as 1.5 times of a conventional decker.
It is probably correct in terms of their length, when 48 bendis line up one by one vs 72 deckers XD
Obviously they've forget the top deck after all.........
