Actually, may I wonder what is the purpose of Railbus? I had seen few times that many queues outside the Central Station with the direction boards indicated "Railbus", so I guess that they are not a scheduled regular service? If so, how often (or, in what situation) they would be in operation?
Or is it just a thing like "train replacement" services?

Yes the railbus is just a replacement of train when CityRail is doing trackwork on that particular line.
There is a schedule of trackwork on CityRail's website which shows you the date and time for each trackwork as well as the replacement bus timetable. I think there will be trackwork on the CityRail's network everyday, but in the weekdays they usually do it at night (like between 10pm-2am) to reduce the inconvenience to the passengers), while during weekends they will do the trackwork for the whole day
Recently there's railbus replacement everyday on the Croulla branch line as they are upgrading one more track on this line
