As far as I understand, Super Pointer Dart (SPD) is just the Dart with a length of 11.3m or more.
There's nothing to do with the engine.
It does, being the Super Dart has an uprated B-series engine (220bhp for the Euro 2 ones I believe). That goes for the Euro 2 and Euro 3 version. One thing that is less obvious is that the Super Dart has two gearbox offered, one is a Voith which can be easily told apart from a normal Dart, the other is an Allison which is essentially the same as any other normal Dart. As the Allison box is preferred amongst the Super Dart (because of commonality with standard Darts), it is perhaps unsurprising for some of the uninformed to think they are "fakes", which they aren't.
