I can just manage to make out the word 10th year in the Go2 logo.
So I guess Nottingham City Transport must be one of the first companies to introduce route branding.
P.S. I know NCT have some of the earliest Dennis Trident, are they still on the go?

You're right. NCT seems to be pioneer to test route branding.
Many new bus operators benefited from this marketing strategies. I can see Stagecoach begins to brand their routes in some small cities now.
There are still small numbers of East Lancs Tridents (I guess around 10) surviving in NCT after the introduction of new 61 regs Omnidekkas in December.
You can find them regularly in Brown line 15, Lilac 24 & 25, and Lime 59.
But all the tridents are spare vehicles and I guess they won't stay long.
Last month several tridents were sold (I coincidently found 2 of them in Loughborough)
Surprisingly, I took a T reg. trident (422) last week as I thought it has been sold. But it wasn't far from my guess because all the ads. and notices inside were removed, feel like it is "prepared" to leave the fleet.

Midland of Wednesfield also acquired 2 ex-NCT East Lancs Tridents recently,
becoming the first double deckers of the fleet.
