6.5.4 In the morning peak East Kowloon down trains alternate between tracks 3 and 5. The major interchange between these and the down Kwun Tong down trains takes place across both platforms 3 and 4. Passengers alighting from Kwun Tong down trains can do so either side of the train (although they will be encouraged to do so on one side as the doors will open first, the boarding passengers having been directed to the platform on the other side). Platform 2 is not in use during the morning peak as all boarding and alighting of both East Kowloon up and Kwun Tong Branch up trains, as well as interchange between them, take place on platform 1.
6.5.5 During the evening peak track 3 is used in the up direction so that East Kowloon up trains alternate between tracks 3 and 1. Interchange traffic between East Kowloon and Kwun Tong Branch up trains takes place across platforms 1 and 2. Platform 3 is not in used.
6.5.6 It is not necessary for either of platforms 2 and 3 to be used during the off peak period. Track 3 is also not required for passenger service at off peak times and it would only be used for taking trains in and out service on the East Kowloon Line from the Depot.
